Home page banner:
Because this loads slowly it can show an empty white banner briefly, so a background image is used to stop this. The image is just the first image in the slideshow, at a low resolution for better loading speed, but if the order of the slideshow pictures is changed at any point then this image will need changing as well, which cannot (easily) be done from within wordpress (unless you want to edit the style sheet and that will just get overwritten again at some point).
Adding new pages:
To add new pages as ‘children’ of other pages, for example adding an Attractions page:
- Create the page, and set a ‘Featured image’ – ideally, this should be square and about 400 pixels wide
- At the bottom of the page, select a suitable box colour and text colour for the box
- Set the page parent as appropriate, in this example it would be ‘Local attractions’
- Save the page
This will then create a link box in the parent page, with the page title underneath the featured image.
Note that this will not be possible with a slider plugin, those have to be manually created which is rather awkward. Could custom code this into a slider, but it will take a few hours to do that.
Other notes
Google maps showed title as ‘Devil’s Bridge Falls’, now changed to Waterfalls.
Google maps show the Website address as TXGB
Google maps shows the address as ‘Woodlands’
Logo is fade-animated in on all pages, to hide a small glitch which can show on page load due to dynamic repositioning of logo
